This year, our school has been selected by the State Scholarship Foundation (IKY) to receive an Erasmus+ funding in order to run the Key Action 1 for School Education project “Let’s make our school more international and digital”. The project is among the 179 KA1 projects in Primary and Secondary Education that have been awarded a grant by the European Commission, out of a total of 440 applications.

Our project aims to motivate and increase the opportunities for our teachers to participate in international activities and collaborative networks. At the same time, we hope to improve our knowledge and skills in the use of ICT during the learning/teaching process, as well as in order to facilitate our internalisation efforts and the organisation of school life in general. The school staff mobilities that we have planned as part of our project involve two training seminars and a job shadowing activity. Besides those, we plan to boost engagement in pursuing our project objectives among all members of our school community, presenting them with the objectives of our mobility activities and discussing the impact they are expected to have on our school’s strategic development, as well as organising a range of activities that draw upon and disseminate the results to our students.

In conclusion, our project is expected to strength our school’s European dimension, improve our teachers’ and pupils’ digital competence and motivate communication with peers across Europe. In these respects, we hope to increase our capacity to nurture citizens for a sustainable society.
